Dwyane Wade Leaves Nike

Dwyane Wade left his shoe endorsement with Nike for a shoe endorsement with Li-Ning, a Chinese athletic clothing company that is little known in the U.S.A., but is sold in over 8,000 retailers in China.

Wade’s choice to move his shoe endorsement to a Chinese atheletic company could be considered a positive for the NBA, as any exposure the NBA can get in China, with a population that quadruples that of the States, is considered to be good.

Although Wade’s endorsement change could garner gain in the Chinese market for both Wade and the NBA, the shoe design has been called bland, and is ranking 5 out of 10 in online ratings.
